I was just joking of course. But it doesn't have to be Tuckerman steep to be interesting. I find steep groomed runs to be amongst the worst trails around. Double diamond ratings may indeed be warranted for such runs if only due to the generally horrid conditions as it does not take many sliders (emphasis on the slide) turning their skis or boards side ways to make conditions appalling at best. Reminds me of Zoomer at Cannon. The groomed part is just an absolute disaster. And that run is not even terribly steep!

Eh. One or two at a mountain is nice though...I like to just let them run sometimes and fly down the hill. Cascade at K is good for this midweek....just bomb down and make a wide right onto the Runout. (As long as downdraft and escapade stay bumped up, it's nice.)

Loon is more of a cruising mountain anyways. Most people I know that ski there are more into groomed stuff than not. There's Triple Trouble and Big Dipper for bumps. Any more and I think people would complain. I always hear everyone bicker about it when they leave Angel Street or Lower Flume ungroomed. just food for thought. Ripsaw could be different; I haven't skiied it yet.

I along with most people like steep groomers..even if it's scrapped off and icy..it's edgeable to those with well tuned skis..

I've had many great runs on a groomed Zoomer. You should have skied it this saturday riv, humungous soft whales through the middle and they were even making snow under the chair all the way to the top.I'm sure that will stay ungroomed and bumped for those who like that.BTW Cannon was fabulous this Sat and Sun with zero lines.

We skied Ripsaw a few times today, that's a fun trail! I do have to say that the steep pitch on skiers left was ice, you have no edges or don't know how to use them, you will fall and get hurt. All the way to skiers right was ungroomed stuff, which was fun in a few parts, but more snow is needed as I bottomed out on rocks a couple of times. Patrol had warning markers up so I knew what I was getting into.

From the chair riding up it looks kinda steep, have to tell you when you're on top looking down at the lift you get a whole new perspective! The trail is a great addition to Loon, can't wait to ski it again!
