I skied Blue on Sunday, and many of the trails had definitely not been groomed since the storm.

No, they were not untracked power, but they were ungroomed powder. It was awesome. So very, very very glad they didn't groom them all. It was downright legitimate great skiing.

And FWIW, speaking as someone who is about equal distance from Blue and CB....on a NORMAL pocono weekend, where you can expect made made surfaces getting scraped to ice, and big crowds, I have to give the edge to Blue for terrain, but CB handles the crowds a little better.

Blue has more variety in the trails, less run out on the Main Street side with the slow lifts, two trails similar in steepness to CB's one...I forget the name of it - that one on the looker's left under the HSQ, have two marked glades and they seed bumps on steeper trails.

i've skied both a lot, and like I said, they are about the same drive so there is no travel time influencing this opinion.

But like I said, CB seems to swallow the masses up better - the mountain being spread out horizontally helps I guess.

Lately though on typical weekends, we've been choosing Jack Frost over either because we just hate the crowds. It's completely normal to have 20+ minute lines at blue on just any random weekend. and CB while better, isn't much. No one goes to JF. Granted, it's tiny and all the trails are pretty much the same, and it's a bit further but nice people, fair amount of trees, such as they are, and generally good snowmaking make it more fun for us as a family.

I'll buy that. I'm not killing Blue in anyway but Camelback is a much faster and easier drive for us and thus has become the home playground. (its even easier then the drive to Mountain Creek which closer to our house). We raised our kids skiing there and have no regrets what so ever. When our son raced we got to get around to all the Pocono/PA mountains every season so I'm quite familier with all of them. Now the decision heading out of the driveway is west on 80 to CBK or east to 287 then north to Vermont. (or a 3rd option of heading east to one of the NY airports and flying west, my favorite). It allows us to ski every weekend during the season whether we travel or stay at home. I look forward to being up there this weekend before a travel weekend the following one and we will be back for the holidays (I won't go up north for those weekends).

I was at montage mountain this weekend, and all lifts were ski on. If you guys want a bigger mountain, great bar, great snow, and no crowds, go there. Their glade game (not yet this year) is great as well.

i've been to montage for concerts in the summer. the lower mountain does look nicely steep. surprised scranton got no snow from this storm, and also surprised that montage would ever be uncrowded, being so very close to an actual population center.

They got 2". The northern cutoff of this storm was simply amazing.

Scranton, Camelback, Blue Mountain, Allentown, all not that far from North to South, and it made the difference of: 2", 18", 24" 32".

That's pretty crazy.
