Big sale on Southwest. Just bought Boston to Denver for $83 one way non stop, and Boston to Salt Lake one way $110. Never seen it cheaper

super cheap rates to denver the same weeks i am planning to be in canada, but hotels near a-basin and aspen are both ridiculously priced. im at about $1700 for 2 weeks of decent hotels in canada. it would be $3k minimum for the worst possible airbnbs on a co itinerary.

too bad, with the nino id feel better about aspen/a-basin, but this is not affordable

Kusty, What is the rate. $120 a night? I realize that you are really good at finding deals but you must have seen the increase over the last 5 years. $120 is about the going rate now for medium quality hotels. At least what I have seen for Utah, California and Montana. My wife has expensive taste so usually we don't go to that type of lodging. it is usually slopeside or a chalet rental.
In Europe we have been doing hotels with Half board. So Breakfast and Dinner is included. That is $300 a night which is Ouch as far as I am concerned but not for her.

More. Quality Inn and Hampton Inn in silverthorne are >200.

Aspen is a joke. And even in Carbondale the comfort inn and days inn are over $200

Best I could find on Airbnb was a studio apt in Carbondale for $1500 and then a private hostel room w share bathroom in silverthorne for $1300

Not do-able for a 2 week solo trip. Especially considering in Canada I am all in $1500 for 2 weeks of lodging in 3 different simple but well reviewed motels

Doesn’t seem to be any of that independent decent motel stuff in co. Co would be double lodging cost for less privacy and more commuting in the snow

Utah is always easy bc I stay in town. Very cheap.

Jackson last year, super8 outside of town was $100 maybe less. Place in Hailey near sun valley also about $100

Sucks that Southwest didn't last long in Newark. Only got to fly them once or twice from here. Thanks for posting though.

i bit.

the el nino was spooking me on canada.

found a decent airbnb between carbondale and aspen for $1000 for 6 nights, super8 in silverthorne for 1200 for 7 nights. turo for 1100.

spend about 700 more on lodging, but saving 350 on the flight and 200 on the car so it almost washes out. i got all excel spreadsheety.

Best ski airline eva= free bags, in 30 years I've never been delayed so much as to miss more than an hour of half day at Alta/Bird.

Cheap, friendly, cheap, efficient, 1st to give equal flight upon cancellation w no penalty - everyone followed.

in '06 bought fuel futures at $30-$60 a barrel while everyone else ate $100+ barrel of oil. Not as good as when Kelleher ran ran the outfit, but still efficient - no sharing of fees with booking sites - you go direct or you don't go, kinda brilliant. Simple, old theme ' lets not do what everyone else is doing. . . '

My favorite cheapskate Southwest Air trick over the years is to book the week before Xmas. This year its Dec 18 -22 Boston to Denver. If its good conditions and I got my act together for the holidays I will go.
Or I can cancel the night before and use the credits for later in the year. Unlike the other airlines no fees or penalties.
Over the years I probably go about 40 percent of the time and cancel 60 percent.
