Yesterday was, actually, pretty darn good. East side was mostly open, including Twilight zone (ok, a stretch.) Despite the late start, good snowmaking coverage and , for a change, no shortage of water.

West side was closed, despite Wizard being good, for...installation of HKD guns on Wizard! The real news are these guns, along with a NEW Pisten Bully (Plastic still covering the seats) and 15 new Areco fan guns (along with 3 used ones.) Interesting that the area took delivery of these after January first.

A VT Lift Inspector was there and things went smoothly, so many things seem to be coming together.

The bad news is that Mother Nature proved to be just that, a Mother. SoVT got about an inch of rain Wednesday night. I left a Stratton Party in South Londonderry around 10:00, heading to Townshend and it was POURING! Driving through the rock cuts on Route 30, the ice pillars had been washed out and were shattered across the road. The temps did drop late in the night.

Today, the summit of Stratton had 2" of stickey snow on "very firm" base.

This is not going to be a good weekend in SoVT.

So I assume we are talking about Magic here? :-?

I know a lot would figure that out, but I really shouldn't be so presumptive. Perhaps even more so when talking about Magic and new equipment.
