I would be interested to know what that steep final pitch on Redline at Magic is. It's only a couple hundred feet of vertical, but it really surprised me how steep that stretch is. It's got to be around 30 degrees.

Are these for the entire lenght of the trails or just the headwalls on them?

Again copied from Epic:

I believe he is some kind of geographic info systems analyst and used Google Earth to derive the degree of steepness for what he perceived to be the steepest stretch with over a couple hundred yards length on well known ski trails around the country.

This list not accurate if Ripcord at Mount Sneaux is listed as less steep than the other listed Eastern runs...

I think the numbers represent the entire length of the ski trail. If you look at the list, ovation at k is listed as 24 degrees, but further down the list, it has Lower Ovation as being as 30.7.

The top 1/2-2/3's of ripcord at mt. snow is not steep. Only that headwall is steep. So, on avg. the 27.4 number for ripcord is probably correct.

Mushroom Chutes and Toilet Bowl at JHMR are ~45 degrees. They are to the right and left of Tower 3 Chute. They hold the snow much better and they have trees. Much better then T3 chute. Expert Chutes are about 40 to 45 degrees also.

Avalanche at Cannon approach, I think 35 degrees in spots if I remeber right.

I dont know if Toilet and Mushroom are 45 degrees, but low 40's for sure. That part of the hill is what sealed the deal for my move to Jackson on SUnday, hell the entire Thunder lift really sealed the deal.

Tower 3 as stated above is 43 degrees. Shrooms and TB are at least 43 degrees. They are on the same ridge.

I have skied mushroom and they did seem rather steep. Probably steeper than anything I tried in bounds at JHMR, with the exception of the top of Corbets.

Rumble is quite a bit more than 27 degrees for a stretch.

I don't believe that their system for deriving pitches is very accurate, based on those numbers. For example, Castlerock Run is obviously more than 21 degrees for a long time. The headwall on Devil's Fiddle is quite a bit steeper than Outer Limits. etc. I don't buy it.

Which slide are they measuring?

I also don't know that high rustler is 44+ while the slides are only 36 %. High rustler doesn't seem that steep. Hell it doesn't seem steeper than parts of upper cloudspin...perhaps its the exposure on whiteface and snow conditions that make me feel this way.
