We heard a prediction of 3-7 inches today, but it was dumping and still is. I think they'd gotten at least 6 inches when we left the mountain at around 1:00, but it's hard to tell with the blowing snow (it's very windy.) Unlike the powder that fell Sunday night into Monday, this doesn't seem to all be blowing off of the trails and into the trees -- the snow is a little more dense and that should help the trails that have thin cover.
We skied Cliff Trail yesterday and it was "unskiable" according to the guy at the repair shop where I took my skis to have them fix the big chunk a rock tore out of my base. I heard some locals calling their friends to tell them not to ski it. It would have been nice if ski patrol had posted a "thin cover" sign as a warning...but I digress. This snow should help a lot. The trails that have snowmaking and that have been open are in excellent shape right now. They've been blowing on Hayride for the past few days, I'm hoping they'll open that before we have to go back home.
