Awesome. Skied during the afternoon, probably showed up when Allen was
taking off around noon, but man did I get some great runs. After a rough
week, one filled with an emotional roller-coaster it all hit me in one big
face shot off the gondi. There are some spots I ski with Dave a lot, no one
else seems to but we make a lot of great turns in there. I entered the open
field that starts it off blindly and found honest to goodness lightly
drifted to over the knee, powder that billowed up and over me. One turn,
one cloud of smoke...second turn, another cloud of smoke...face shot, then
one more. That was it on this run. The moment of glory, but it got me back
in the game. I went back and did it again. Not a single other track in
these few hundred yards of woods between trails but for the first time in
over a week, something was mine. Skiing puts it all in perspective, not the
other way around.
Bottom line, the skiing is still awesome. It was great to finally run into
lister/semi-lurker Bill. He had a tough decision in front of him, leave or
stay another day, as it started to really come down towards closing bell.
I'll see you on the hill.
