Finally, the big SSS reporting in for ticket duty sir!
Holiday rate, all area, adult, window price
Stratton $84
Sunday River $77
Suicide Six $59

Yippie, now I can complete my price chart!

Oh, and there's more, S6 now has a REAL WEB SITE! After all these years as a Woodstock Inn afterthought, it actually has it's own domain and web pages. http://www.suicide6.com/ That musta been haaard!

I'm far from a Stratton regular, but with an X2 card ($69, but comes with a free ticket) mid-week tickets are $42 and weekends are $59.

I just did a run through of a package Ski & Stay through their website and got $72/night lodging and around $40 day lift tickets. I can live with those #'s.

Holidays will be $74 with an X2 ($10 off) and the free ticket is not applicable during Holidays. But Strat's not alone. Everyone milks the cash cow holidays. Agreed, they want you for multiple days, multiple dinners, multiple beers and price accordingly. While the average price is down for multiple days, when you've paid your last VISA bill, you've dropped a lot of coin.

That's why it's more fun for me to go off-radar skiing during those times. Let them make their money, save the good stuff for later....:spread:

Hey, that's what mid-week trips are all about! I avoid VT during the holidays.

For what those empty PA slopes? :p

Actually I'm with you even though I'll be at Mt Snow over New Years this year. Will be logging more mid-week days and late season days this year.

PA slopes are always empty between 8:00 and 9:30 :spin:

Almost $60 for S6? Wowzers

Riv, lemme tell ya, it ain't hardly worth it at that price. Only for old times sake, and cause my grandma learned to ski there in '34

It was grrreat growing up there in the 80s with the schoolbus stopping at the bottom of the lift every day and making real value out of our kiddie seasons passes. But now with that price...
Get way better value out of the $300 seasons pass to our night-skiing places down here around DC :fangun:

I say this every year I post holiday prices, and everyone already knows, most people don't pay top rate. Like PP, I'll ski there on off-times with some discount dredged up from someplace. Like the old saying goes, if you don't have a discount, you're not looking hard enough.

There's absolutely no reason why someone should pay walk up prices. There's always a deal somewhere. I find coupons on ebay all the time for places West and East. Just picked up 2 (2 for 1) coupons for Sugarbush midweek for $5 each. There's a few Stratton ones also. X2 is a great deal...

I'm currently planning a mid-week 5 day trip to VT. On my hit list are Mount Snow, Stratton and Stowe. Costs per day (lodging & lifts) break down as follows:

Mount Snow - $108
Stratton - $133
Stowe - $158

I'm going to try to get the Stowe cost down by booking a room on Priceline. Having a Blue Mountain season pass, gets me $59 mid-week lift tickets at Stowe, otherwise I think that cost would be much higher.

I've paid full price once over the past 3 years, the time I got yelled at at Sugarloaf trying to find a taker to go in on a 2-1 ticket with me. With discount cards, Liftopia, freebies, etc. no reason to pay the sticker price.

A few years ago we did a VT Road Trip- 5 Places in 5 days, BUT we wanted to avoid the Mega Resorts and hit a few of the places that we skied as kids or in college.

So....
- Bromley
- Magic
- MRG
- Smug's
- Jay

It was amazing ! We totally winged it on the lodging, finding a descent but still cheap hotel/B+B very close to the Mts...

Next time we want to Rent an RV and go for 2+ weeks

How did you get the best prices - did you bid on them?
