Ski Area: Stratton Mountain, VT

Conditions: Machine made PP on Well covered and groomed slopes and trails

Trip Report:

Another great day out on the ski trails! Although it was X-mas eve it was still considered mid-week non holiday so the X2 card fetched me a $30.00 discount, sweet! Me and my ski bunny booted up and hit the hill just before 8:30 and skied all over the joint logging a healthy 20,000 feet of vert before calling it quits around 12:30!

Minus the glades and tree skiing areas about 85% of the available terrain is open and skiing pretty darn well. Conditions where machine groomed PP with the occasional scratchy spot. ROTD had be either Drifter or Standard as both had great midwinter conditions. For the most part we skied right onto just about every lift and only waited once (5 minutes) for the gondi around 10:30.

Weather was pretty nice although a bit windy in spots, just nice to see the sun after a couple cloudy days. Here's some pictures.........

Nice pics. I've never been to Stratton, but some friends are going for a few days in February. Maybe I'll go up for a day if conditions are good at that time. They got a ridiculous deal mid-week including a slopeside room, breakfast & lunch, and 2 lift tix for ~ $130.
