Stratton Mtn., VT

Date Hiked: 09/10

Trails(s) Hiked: 7N, Long/Appalachian Trail, North Stratton connector trail

Total Distance: Probably about 10 miles

Difficulty: Moderate

Conditions: Mostly sunny, very wet/muddy trails

Special Required Equipment: None

It was a great day for hiking - finally! This was the third time I had planned to hike Stratton - the first time was raining before I woke up, the second time it started downpouring just as I arrived at the base, however this time I finally lucked out.

The trail wasn't overly crowded...probably because it was very wet. The wind was really howling up in the firetower.

Ascent took about 1:26 from the Kelly Stand parking area to the Stratton firetower.
