I drove up to Stratton early Mon. morning. Skiing was very good with about 3" of fresh snow Sun. night. A little sunshine in the morning but it clouded up & started snowing again by early afternoon. The mountain was in surprisingly good shape considering the numerous rain/freeze cycles they've been having this year.

Tues I drove up to Sugarbush & hooked up with a friend that works for the mountain. He was nice enough to wait for me because driving up took a little longer than expected & I didn't get there for 1st chair (arrived just about 9am). The roads were snow covered all the way & what usually takes me an hour to drive took 1 1/2 hours. I had one of the best powder days I've had in awhile with a solid 3" of fresh Mon. night on top of the 6" they received the previous day. My first run was down Murphy's glade which only had a couple of tracks down it previous to us hitting it ( my friend made a couple of runs earlier while I booted up). Second run down Spring Fling was the same deal, breaking fresh tracks all the way. We then went up Heavens Gate & skied Organgrinder. Same deal only a few tracks down previous to us hitting it. Overall it was the best day I've had so far this year. My friend took a short video of me skiing the powder on Spring Fling which I was hoping to see posted on another site but I guess he couldn't figure out how to upload it. It's always a good day when we ski together & I look forward to doing it again soon. Both Stratton & Sugarbush were empty, some people don't realize how good the skiing really is. Just a pic I got off the Sugarbush web site showing the powder we had Tues.

Sounds like you had a couple of good days in VT. It just shows that people have to stop complaining about the conditions and get out and ski. My mantra is "you don't know, unless you go" as I have had a few surprise powder days this season when a lot of people stayed home.
