first chair to last, no breaks. and no repeats. i will repeat a trail/glade but not a line. i very intentionally will hug skier's left/right if i intend to ski something twice. that slog out of west pilot def stole 2-3 runs from me. getting out of that sucked. was great untouched pow til i realized what i had done.

Caught the torch ceremony and fireworks last night, good band in the bar.

5” of heavy wet snow last night/today, rained a little, another 5” tonight, should set up the base well. Everything was pretty good considering the past few days.

Another couple inches overnight. Got an early start today at the sunbowl,.. kidderbrook, upper and lower middle brook were great, sunny start but lots of wind blown effect on trails as the day went on, some spots down to boilerplate.

Hit untouched glades yesterday and today in eclipse and west pilot. Ursa line got deep by lunchtime , not sure if any other lifts ever opened but I didn’t make it much longer after that.

Very satisfying run, looks like I skied seven of the last twelve days. Our shuttle ran an extended schedule for the holiday week so the ride back with an adult beverage was a treat. Probably won’t get to do that a lot.

World Cup under the guns.

It seems like out of anyone in New England they have really expanded the fastest this year. What do they even have left after that? Supertrail, Bear Down, Upper Tamarack

They don't make snow on Liftline anymore in the Snow Bowl do they?

It looks like it has been snowing most of the day today, wondering if it is adding up to anything. Only stratton and Jay are showing snow on radar today

Yes they have really shown their stuff this season.

Upper Standard is a big one still to go. Tamarack had some snow made on it pre holidays and looked to be lighted up today on CAM.

Not sure if they still make snow on Liftline but would bet if temps continue to cooperate that they will. Prior years they simply might not have had time to get to it. Personally I like it natural, but I am not your typical Stratton skier.

Tamarack should be done by tomorrow but, not sure what's up with Bear Down. It had 30 foot piles the length of it right before X-mas. Some big acreage left to hit in both the Sunriser Suoertrail and Upper Standard/Rimeline.

Thanks forgot about Upper Standard as well.

Related question: has Lower Down Easter always had snowmaking? I haven't been to Stratton in years and I only remember the Supertrail as having it down there (besides the greens coming from the sides).

As long as I have been skiing Stratton, Lower Downeaster has had snowmaking, and it is the first Blue in the sunbowl they make snow on. I'm a bit surprised this year they focused on opening Big Ben, Lower Middlebrook, and Churchill Downs before Lower Downeaster.

Are the woods back in play? I’m a bit tempted by 7:45 am start time tomorrow…
I haven't posted on here in years and have been lurking. Neither have I skiied Stratton in nearly a decade. However, was here today and wanted to chime in the woods were great. Pretty much all I skied today besides the Snow Bowl Liftline and Upper Standard which were left to natural bumps and were soft and very good. Some of the woods got skied in (like shredwood) when I left just after 3 but still fun and coverage was fine. Supposed to get 1-3 tonight and another 1-2 tomorrow before 1pm according to NWS. That happens that will be enough to refresh them IMO.

Yep. I skied Diamonds in the Rough yesterday morning in boot deep untracked in sections. The woods are skiing pretty much as well as they were before the warm up.
This was a ROTD candidate for me today. Great coverage and didn't get skied out even at 2 when I did my last laps in them.

Great day. Unbelievable to find untracked lines in the trees all day long. Some of the trees quite deep. The kidderbrook side stuff especially. Get the slightest bit off the most trafficked line in the glades = instant pow. Consistently boot deep, sometimes calf deep. Fucking killer day and already home ordering food. Skied 29k vertical from 7:45-1:45

Also crazy that there seems to be more snow on Stratton than on sugarbush. Maybe just a combination of the terrain being less steep, Stratton skiers being less adventurous, and all of the glades being mostly above 3k feet
