Anyone get out at Stratton today Saturday 2/7? Curious how much new snow - they only reported an inch, but that was early, with no update.

Just around an inch most of which was blowing around and being deposited in the woods. Despite the cold the skiing was good.

Thanks for intell. Very strange that Bromley got 6” when it seems everyone nearby got way less. And I can happily confirm the 6”. Mountain weather never ceases to amaze.

Most of mountain on wind/cold hold yesterday. Only American Express and Tamarack lifts running in the morning, Ursa finally opened around 1:00 and by that time the mountain had emptied out and it was ski on and you had the place to yourself. Despite the cold it turned out to be great day.

How busy do you think it will be on Monday 2/16? Not blacked out
Like everywhere else, if you get there super early you can get in a great two hours before the masses show up. Based on what I saw yesterday they have really terrific coverage and looks like some weather event may be happening Sunday. Get there early, get good parking and rip for a few hours.

Skied Stratton last Wednesday. It skied REALLY good. was surprised how much ungroomed there was. I actually was expecting almost none! Woods I Skied were good obviously no untracked, but still enjoyable.

The FOX Weather chick left N.J. for Stratton. Good thing she brought homie to drive.

Why did they bring their own eggs, when Vermont has green ones from Red headed hens.

At least maybe she can ski this place?:unsure::unsure::coffee:

Funny how the big press has avoided the BEAST.

P.S. Give credit where credit is due when at SugarBush they drank (whatever their brewing. up there)

It would be better to go with Forbins FInest. Meow

We skied Saturday. Got 3" at our air b&b in Manchester, but I'd say about an inch at Stratton. The upper mountain was closed Sunday. Stratton gave everyone vouchers good for any day up until next February 8 so my guys were happy about that. I'm heading back up next week for a ski safari around and will likely hit Stratton on my way up.

Snow was overall really good.

Parked in the exact same spot today :p

It’s not obvious but there’s one permit parking section at the sun bowl M-Th and two sections Fr/Sat/Sun ;)

Bluebird morning then cloudy, and nicely warm.

Hit Bear Down, bumps center and right/tracked up whales on left/a narrow strip far left, broke a serious sweat, really wiped me out.

Hmm. Staying in Bennington tonight. May shift to Killington or Pico tomorrow if Gondola is down at Stratton. Thoughts?

It made the Amex a mess the past couple days but the upper mountain lifts didn’t seem impacted. The shooting star is open this week and was pretty much ski on.

Get to the sun bowl early.

Be aware that Pico's Summit Quad and Outpost double at Pico are both down. The latest update is that they ran into some challenges fixing the Summit Quad and are not sure if it will be back up at some point tomorrow or if it will take longer. Sounds like they do not expect it for the morning at least.

We stuck with Stratton. Lines were somewhat lengthy but we got plenty of skiing in. Started before 9 at Sunbowl. Finished up around 3:30. Glades were very nice. Soft bumps all over the hill but you did have to keep an eye out for scraped off boilerplate. Heavy snow but not soaking wet. They reported 10" and in some places it was.

Back home waiting for the storm

Our shuttle drops at the main base so got on the Amex singles at the opening yesterday and then the ursa singles, pretty quick to the summit, stuck with the shooting star for a while after that, looped upper middle brook black bear a few times each then kidderbrook. Got to the snow bowl lift and eventually hit west pilot. Took the noon bus back.

Looking like a good run for snow this week, sounds like the gondola will be running gain soon.
