Date(s) Skied: 3/11

Resort or Ski Area:Sugarbush (LP)

Conditions: Frozen/some spring

Trip Report: unfortunately, my worst fears were realized and the temps never warmed up enough today, or more accurately, the sun never came out long enough to soften things up where it counted.

Groomers were really slick and i have no edges. not a good combo. Best runs for me were Ripcord, some loose in the top bumps and the domino bumps were decent. Took one run over on castlerock. Crock run, pretty good all things considered but really, not what anyone was looking for today. worst part of being over there was seeing first hand the awesome awesome bump lines but having to pick your way through them. It mustve been spectacular before today. oh well, there will be other days.

Jeff, no worries on anything today. It was a weird start for me also. I didnt want to get out of bed knowing the mtn was gonna be hard as a rock.

Bummer. Amazing how quickly things can change in a few days. We're in a tough part of the season - could be great with still powder opportunities or corn/spring, or terrible with flash frozen....

I abandoned Lincoln Peak early this AM in favor of Mt Ellen. Amazing the difference a few miles, elevation and direction can have on a mountain. I stayed up top on the North Ridge Express and Rim Run, Elbow, Bravo, Cruiser and Which Way were all in decent shape. Elbow was the pick of the day - true packed powder condition and fast criusing.

Angus & Son of Angus skied at Burke today and had same experience - sun just never got out from behind the clouds. Hard pack all around. A disappointment for sure - but as said above, we're in transition period. will post some observations later about Burke.

i took a few runs off the bravo (?) quad that unloads right next to slidebrook. I was seriously debating going over there if for no other reason then to ride that lift. shoulda coulda. the run under bravo, waterfall maybe, that was soft but i didnt drive that far to ski that all day. i wish that snow could've been on some better trails. even north lynx trails were totally setup. morning star was a teeth rattler and the one to the lookers right, forget the name, but holy shiznit, i couldnt get anything resembling an edge into it.

Gatehouse quad up to Slidebrook. Super Bravo is the other Quad there at the base. That sucks things didn't soften up, North Lynx usually gets some nice sun and bumps : )

Cannon - similar story

Hard and slick at Cannon as well. We were hoping that the afternoon would be a bit softer, but it just wasn't. Some bumps off Zoomer chair were doable, but far from what I was hoping for. Oh well, perhaps the next few days there will be a few freeze thaw cycles that seem to be the formula for good corn
