Had a warren miller freebie to use or lose, so took a friday off from work and headed north.

Started the day off on Birch Run off Lynx. Groomed corduroy goodness, I'm talking AZ summit fresh tracks freshness... Fantastic. Did it again, and ran down Sleeper over to Bravo... Few runs off of Heavens Gate, a Castlerock run, and some more off of Bravo. Spring Fling and Snowball were great. May have hit an all time speed record (no data collected though, so just take my word, FAST.). Most on map woods were junk, firm, ski'd out... but secret stashes were still nice, snow was deep enough and coverage was great. Wasn't really a woods day for me, more of a nice bluesky groomer day. After lunch made our way over to North/Ellen for a few samples. Good variety to get over there -- more of the same, pretty fast and bumps were a bit too firm to fully enjoy them.

I was there on Friday too, also with Warren Miller freebies, and agree the conditions were fantastic. Didnt mind the woods at all though, I thought the coverage was great there too.

My only Sugarbush disappointment was with the cafeteria, which I thought was one of the worst and most overpriced ski cafeterias I've been in in years. In another thread a bunch of folks commented on how much better mountain food has gotten for the price, or how the prices have even moderated - well, it seems Sugarbush is still stuck in 1994 in this regard.

Food is better in Castle Rock Pub or if your at Mt. Ellen upstairs in the bar. Personally I can't complain about the price because I usually ski with someone who works for the mountain when there. 50% off everything when they swipe his card. But I agree the cafeteria food leaves a lot to be desired.
