Got a lap at sugarbushnorth today after work. Conditions on the hill were 0-12" with some deeper drifts. Got up above the summit chair base and the snow got real vairable with some wind buffing. Deskinned and hit summit lift line to hammerhead. Hammerhead was really nice. I really enjoyed that trail. Short, but narrow with alot of character. Cover was real good. call it 6-12. crust was audiable, but only on the steepest sections, but it gave and I really couldn't feel it. Then I cut over to skiier right trail by the sunny somethingorother and cruised the low angle runout working some nice soft wind sculpted drifts on the edge of the trees, boot top and deeper. Fun day. No pics, camera decided it was too cold today.

Try for a 1:1 ratio, this year I'm 5 for 6.....only let down was SBS. But let's not go there again....I ski out back alot too, and that's been dust on crust most of the time. But I take pride in making turns in crust and deep brush on my XC skiis. The lost ski area is getting pretty overgrown. We need a good foot plus of base for the bushes to start disappearing. There are a bunch of DH MTB trails that are skiiable with a little less base...

I never ski quad woods anymore. They get hammered before they are ready and every inch of snow that falls get's skiied off immediately. By the time there is real base, even after big dumps it's just hidden bumps. Side slippers get in there....too bad, it's good terrrain. For me it was all about upper upper national to the island to s53 to lookout woods. I also liked Partridge alot...the right line...to midway..accross National, then take the last gully before liftline....and the grill is sick as well. I tended to jet for the gondi early to get first car, tagging pumphouse to SBwoods on the way. I love the lines off the top of the gondi fresh, and blasting waterfall way too fast. Blew my knee out that way. Such a good Mtn...
