Skied at Mellon in the morning then took the SBX over to LP, skied a couple of runs then joined the pond skimming party at the base for awhile, then back to Mellon to finish a great day.

Conditions at Mellon were excellent with 95% coverage. The trails on LP that got extra snowmaking skied very nicely as well.

People were having a pretty awful time at LP

First hand knowledge! It was cold in there! Now I am batting .500, so I owe Tin a beer. Email me when you are up next, Tin. Great turnout for Pond Skimming with 100 participants! (Thanks for capturing the moment, Lostone!)

The hole that got punched in the pond was unfortunate as the water level dropped quickly when that happened.

Win, why are you carrying skis in hand?

I was trying to be too cute. I was dressed in the fatigues that we used for the 4th of July, and the ski I was carrying was the "rifle" that Hardy had as a prop in the parade. I was going to go a drill while skimming, but it obviously didn't work and thus the crash.

I imagine it's tough enough trying to skim across. You want to be cute and do a drill? Good one.
