Are there any long term plans to add anything inbetween castlerock and heavens gate chair, like another lift, trails, or glades?
Would compromise the church and a lot of great chutes... in this: http://geocities.com/romulus757/images/expansionplans.gif ASC master plan from 1996ish I think, there were plans for a traverse, but that never happened...

ya i was thinking that... need to get out there this winter... to many places to ski. I really need someone to find to ski that sick stuff, cause my dad wont follow me into any of it. Me and hiked into some glade up at castlerock by mistake and i wanted to ski it and he said it was way to tight.

Dangerous topic to bring up...keep the location of certain glades/stashes quiet

Well it would be very difficult for me to give away anything, seeing as I've never been there, only know what I've heard, and that's limited, as, of course, no one wants to give away the stashes 8)

Hah... eventually I'd like to get up there, but I need to get my tree riding skills more solid first, just really got into it last year, but infinitely more fun than open trail (except in pow of course, when everything's awesome...) :D

what is with the 2 pipelines they had planned for under slide brook
I would have to say that glade area would be pretty awsome, i think it would be so huge with such limited lift compacity it wouldnt get skiied out either, that area is just massive. Now if i knew all of the secret stashes out there i might being saying other wise

trees are the best, i got into them about 3 years ago. First year i was pretty bad and didnt really like it that much, it was okay. Second year started to get into it. This last year i loved it, if the mountain im skiing has good glades i will never ski on anything else

Definitely a good question about the pipelines... about the glade area... it's out there, nothing preventing you from hitting it... just don't bring too many friends with you...

I agree, good trees definitely make a mountain experience better (not that I've been anywhere else besides sugarbush north/south, haha, though that's going to change this winter)... it's the only thing that makes sugarbush north even tolerable for me... otherwise I get terribly bored riding the same wide open cruisers over and over again...

That's like saying if you had a lifetime supply of chocolate, why eat anything else? Why ignore all the other candy out there?

I love Sugarbush....
Rode there last winter - hardly EVER was on a trail all woods! Great "slack country"

Just thought I'd mention that... :)

JJ, kudos on the new glades. Do you have plans to open any more this season?
Am I allowed to answer some of these questions, just being a local?? Kinda already have I suppose...

I think if there were new glades planned, we would've heard about them already, and I'm thinking most of their effort this summer is going into the new base project...

Why doe Sugarbush need new glades?? It already has awesome tree skiing... Thinning it out would ruin it..

0. Seeing as I snowboard. Well, seeing as I'm 15, in school 5 days a week, and I was in St. John with the family over february break... probably had 20-25 days this year... but I skiied there from 1995 to 2000 and have snowboarded there since...

New question...

Was hiking up there today, Castlerock to be specific, and noticed one of those wind speed gauges/wind direction indicators on the last tower on the Castlerock lift, realize I've seen them elsewhere on the mountain... why are those there if no one can see the data? Is it possible that that information could make it to Sugarbush.com so we could see windspeed/possible temps at summit as well as base, like MRG does?
