For Lift Served Mountain Biking, Mtn Creek kicks the Bushes ASS!

i always thought the terrain at south would have been better for mtb. not straight DH. the funny thing is the veggitation and geology in the highlands is very much like that of the greens its just missing evergreens at the uper ellevations.

It's missing the upper elevations all together!

I'd take Mountain Creek.

The refreshing scent of the bubble in my nostrils just can't be replicated anywhere else.

South Side of Chicago BOOM!
then why are you riding a lift. Go accross the street and ride the cyclone, or clinic, or up to waterbury for a burning man/joes session..
I have ridden diablo on a fully ridgid bike and my single speed, but I mostly ride wawayonder st park along with mile marker 6 on 515 and bomb it to the bottom and ride back up.
but never the cyclone, how is it? I take it that you have.
tell us about it.
I have ridden down jumping jack with studded tires and chased by the Mtn Creek SP.they stopped at the groom line and i just rode through the woods Cuz i was on a bike and they were on skis.

i actually remindes me a lot of the watchung reservation which is probally one of the funest places i have ever riden.

Haha drive through it almost every day. It doesn't surprise me, what JD said about it being closed to bikes, never seen one in there. Horses yes, but no bikes.

Have often daydreamed about skiing down through some backyards/woods from the circle down to 22 though...

actually 94 or 95. we used to cut class in highschool ride there for hours. start trailside do the steps up to the ropeswing then up to the enchanted forest for a downhill through the pines across the creek up to the fields to the haunted village back down the creek. was a fav of mine

most likely everywhere you have thought of doing i have done. there where some good runs down from the water tower. shit now that i think of it that was the first tree riding i ever did. cool

it was actually the people from the stable that got i closed to bikes. they had more money and they pay for some trail maintanace. the bikes where free for all.

I've poached in Watchung a few times last summer, great riding. Sucks that it's closed off officially though. South Mountain got shut down because of the hikers, which imho offered some of the best riding in the area.

Don't know about the biking, but used to love running the trails at South Mountain. Especially the area behind the zoo.

Awesome biking off the Millburn entrance (by the train station). I used to ride right in there from my house. Also there's some pretty good stuff off the SO Ave entrance, but riding up there is suicide. Gotta drive. If I'm gonna put the bike in the car, I'll just go to Lewis Morris.

I won't poach in SM though...to many cops looking for the "big bust". I know that there's a group of guys who poach it regularly after sundown in the summer on ______day nights!
