Cornhead and I skied Sugarbush on Wed. 3/30/16. We had Warren Miller vouchers good for one free lift ticket, mid-week. It's a 286 mile trip for us to drive there. They had received 7" of fresh snow the day before. Clear, sunny, nice day and great skiing.

Nice pics! You day-tripped it?

Yes. Left at 4am, got to Sugarbush at 9:10 am (286 miles). Skied to 2:30, stopped in Oneonta, NY on the way home to eat supper at Brooks BBQ and got home in Binghamton, NY at 8:45 pm.

Hey Reef, yep, that was a long ass day, 10hrs on the road, 4 hrs on the hill. Easy travel on clear roads, really wasn't bad at all, a little more sleep prior wouldn't have hurt. Sugarbush skied great, a little slick between the bumps on the ungroomed, but plenty of fresh loose snow to turn on. Got better the lower you got from the top. Went back to my car to get my rock skis prior to skiing Paradise, glad I did, it was closed prior to Tuesday's snow, I saw why, pretty bony, but skiable. Was uber heavy by the time I hit it, my legs were uber rubbery by then too, took several breaks on the way down. I remember it skiing much easier with the 2 ft they got last time I skied it.

I'm about the same distance and would never think about day-tripping it even with another person to split the driving with. Great pics! I figured Paradise would be a bit sketchy even with the new snow. Good call on the rock skis for that one.
