What a recovery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mad props to the Sugarloaf snowmaking and grooming team. You would barely know they had some NCP on Monday with temps in the 50's. When riding up with one local, he said Tuesday you could see rivers running down trails. It was ugly.
Today, totally different story. What a great day! Random "building technical issue" (some kid called in a bomb threat) last night lead to no school today. Skied from 8:30 - 2. Snow falling almost all day. At the top it was really coming down. probably two inches or so accumulation throughout the morning. It took a break for the sun, then started going again.
It felt like mid-January. Coverage was quite good. Lapped Spillway and the Superquad all day. Upper Double Bitter was fantastic. Had about 2 inches of untouched fresh snow on it for the first few hours. Beauty of Friday at the Loaf, noone was there. Despite a race which was taking place, everything was ski on all day.
Spoke with a patroler about the Bracket Basin stuff. He said that Can't Dog glades was thinned out by almost 70% making it glade skiing more than tree skiing. He said it has a totally different feel. He hiked over to the expansion for this year to look around. Still isn't skiable but looks cool.
