Date(s) Skied: 2/16-17/08
Resort or Ski Area: Sugarloaf
Conditions: 2/16: PP, light crust most places, 0ish, clear
2/17: PP, light crust, 20s, clear
Trip Report:
2/16: President's Day weekend dawned frigid. Fortunately, the single digit temps kept the crowds down on Saturday. The surface was really weird, with a light breakable crust over pow-like snow. The nicest spots had pow drifted over the crust. Best runs were Winter's Way, Pipecleaner, and the backside, with honorable mention to Cinder Hoe.
2/17: Temps were a good 20 degrees warmer, and with them came the crowds. It wasn't too bad, though, except a crazy line at Spillway around 10:30. We met up with Mr. Shwilly-in-Law and had some nice runs. We finally found the Salsa Shack. Best runs were the front and backside. Unfortunately, we realized while gazing over spectacular views from the backside that the camera's batteries had been fried in the previous day's cold.
This morning was drizzly and many lifts were on wind hold, so we headed home.
The pictures are underwhelming.
Crust + low angle = no mo
