1) Lifts that are ancient and slow.
2) Lack of ANY summit facilities
3) Lodging is VERY expensive
I do not agree that they have a parking problem??
I do not know if they would be better off without ASC as the previous owner, SKII, bought the place for the tax break that a money losing area like Sugarloaf provided.
That place needs to be owned by someone with deep pockets, or a multi-area company like ASC to absorb some losses that operating Sugarloaf can incurr.

But for a trip like that I would like to go on more than one trail.awf170 said:ALLSKIING said:The problem I have with Sugarloaf is... if I brought my wife and seven year old there I would be worried all the time where to bring her. Really..I guess I will have to take a closer look at the map but the the lower part is to flat and the upper is to steep for my wife.awf170 said:ALLSKIING said:But for a trip like that I would like to go on more than one trail.awf170 said:ALLSKIING said:The problem I have with Sugarloaf is... if I brought my wife and seven year old there I would be worried all the time where to bring her. From Spillway there is the Sluice trail for intermediates as well as cruising terrain on Buckboard, Cruiser and Whiffletree off of the Wiffletree HSQ.
The lower part of the mountain is great for my sons ability level, and we now take runs from the summit to add variety.
Saddleback also offers some variety and good begginer-intermedaite terrain with a low ticket price.
