Ski Area- The Loaf

Conditions: POW POW POW

Report: first let just say Thank you Mother nature for brings such a light fluffy storm to our neck of the woods. The skiing was truly incredible.

Now to the details.... My ski event started on Wednesday night when I told the GF that I was heading up north to my parents camp. Either A) I had to work in Farmington if Mt. Blue Discrict didnt close school or B) I was skiing. :) well she did not like that but whatever. SO I went up wednesday night woke up at about 6 to check if I had to drive back south and.... IT WAS CANCELLED... SO PUMPED... watched the weather to see what was coming and we already had 3 inches out side by 6:30 so I knew it was gonna be more then they said. I got to the mountain around 7:30 ate breakfast at Delies and make it to the quad by 8:10. Got first chair up.

Im got gonna go ithrough all of my runs but just the key ones...

First Run was kings landing... no tracks to be seen just a nice white coating of about 5 inches... incredible. I skied to SKyline thinking that they would have timberline open by the time I got up and down the glade I always go in.

2nd run was down Toke Road the glade between binder and Timberline... first track in that as well :) awesome. then saw that timberline was closed so i went to the survey line (pulaski). Didnt know what to expect it was burried.

probally like 4th run of the day hit up brackett... It was a lil thin at the entrance but onceyou got in it was a tree skiers heaven... went as far east as I could followed the boundry line pretty much all the way. It had amazing coverage. Small cliffs big cliffs shoots. wide open sections you name it they have it. Honestly blows cassablanca away not just the size but the terrain as well...

But the best run of the day was probally the glade between Kings landing and Hayburner. Thigh deep drifts all the way through. it was the fluffiest snow that i have ever skied. all the woods are covered.

Other Notable trails

Upper Rookie River
"the Birches" glade between White nitro and Bubblecuffer
Wedge
Boomauger
Bubblecuffer burried

easily the best day of the year... 13-16 inches has been reported more to come tonight and tomorrow :) get up here if you can if not your loss

Nice! Can't wait to get up there in a few weeks. You can put pictures into your "gallery" from the desktop then link them to reports also.................................

now that Brackett Basin is open it is absolutely like nothing I have skied in the east. Although I am a dedicated Saddleback skier, with Casablanca and other glades. Brackett allows us to ski different lines and find places untouched daily. It is huge and a lot of fun because you have to think your way down which adds to the feeling of extreme skiing!

Or open an account on Picasa or other hosting sites, then copy and past the url. I find this an easier method than using the AZ gallery. Glad you got the goods, Sugarloaf is a great mountain, can't wait to ski the Brackett Basin myself.
