Conditions: Sunny, 60+ degrees, Bluebird
Trip Report:
Couldn't let this one go by without posting... what an amazing day at Sugarloaf! We had more great days there than I can count this year, but the last Sunday in April was the best --- hands down. Bluebird skies, soft snow, wall-to-wall coverage, no wind, and temps warm enough to render jackets optional. Saw lots of shorts and short sleeves out there, and there was a definite party vibe on the mountain (most of the restaurants in The Village, including The Bag, were closing for the season that afternoon).
Superquad and Skyline were the open lifts for the day, but I made the 10-minute trek to the summit, and White Nitro was well worth it. Skied everything from moguls to groomers to glades... not a bad turn to be had. Runs of the day were on Misery Whip and Narrow Gauge.
Looking back towards West Mountain:
View from Spillway Crosscut:
Plenty of coverage:
Timberline Trail:
And a short video...
