Just got a press release for this, looks like a fun event

Reminds me of like a dirtbike track or something. Anyone done this before? Is it limited to snowboarders?

Yep, I think last yr was the first one...they run down Double Bitter which is a great trail for this kind of event. Windy, narrow and with naturally banked turns before they even start shaping it more.

Was this going on today Nick?....cuz most of the mountain was 97% deserted, a real treat to get out on pp/lgr today...for a much too late day #1. Ok...watched it....I really love that trail in either pp or powder.

I don't think so, I'm putting the press release up now, the video footage was from last year. This year is going to be March 10 - 11.

These are popular out here in the West. Baker is probably the most 'famous' of them all.

I race in the Dick's Ditch comp out here every year and get my ass kicked by Travis Rice and all his buddies. Fun event, fun course. Pretty sweet to have the mountain set up jumps over cat tracks, etc and say have at it hoss.

I was at Baker last year during the local qualifier day. Was great to watch, would have been fun to compete. It's in a long and deep nutural halfpipe type thing, nothing like the Sugarloaf race. Tough day, there was about 2 feet of Cascade "powder" that got packed down hard and super bumpy. The gates are way up high and a good amount of folks weren't making them clean and had to jump up to some of them. Even the better ones looked totally exhausted at the finish. Good stuff!!!

Similar course here at Jackson through Dicks Ditch. They build a sweet hip jump that supposedly Terje hit back in the day and went 100 feet in the air. (As in clearing a 100' table top, not 100' straight up). I believe it as long as you have the balls.

Im always astounding how much the race kicks my ass. I ride close to 100 days a year and am absolutely killed at the end of it. Although our local boy Travis Rice one it one year riding switch, the next he was throwing mistys off the jumps and still won. That kid is one hell of a rider.
