Pics coming later...I can barely move to go get my camera and card reader.
Got to the mountain at 8:10. Got on the lifts by 8:30. Everything was open save Bucksaw and Spillway. Lifts were ski on all day. Timberline was great...a little windy at the top.
Early on, there hadn't been a ton of new snow so most exposed stuff was scraped off. Binder had sheets of ice and Cinder Hoe had exposed rock. By about 11, it was all taken care of.
The whole mountain was a playground today. Fresh tracks all day until closing. The glades were out of control. (I can't speak for BB since I was skiing alone and didn't feel like getting lost) Tomorrow is going to be amazing if they can avoid the wind.
Run of the day is a hard one...probably Ripsaw. Massive powder bumps and absolutely nobody on it for hours. Double bitter from the top was also spectacular. There were these massive banked corners that I hadn't experienced before midway down. Felt like the skier X course.
Gondi extension was scary...zero visibility and you could go from 8" of pow to hardpack without knowing what hit you. By the time you get to the cross cut, visibility was back and Gondi proper was out of this world. Knee deep the whole way. Unreal. Easily the best day of the season.
BTW - SkiMaine, I hit a couple of your favorites in honor of you today. Pole line, Wedge, and Slasher. All great although Wedge was not as good as Winter's Way or Boomauger.
