Date(s) Skied: Saturday 12/11/2010.
Resort or Ski Area: Sugarloaf, Maine
Conditions: pp (slightly on the soft side)
Trip Report:
Wanna know the truth....got up to Sugarloaf ~11:30...day #1 this season...did NOT try anything new on this first of two Demo Days...
Trying to maintain some semblance of balanced skiing with a new left leg of +3mm and a right boot properly canted was somewhat exciting(often of the WRONG kind) ...even on flat slopes:lol:. Would've been able to make a funny video....almost went over the handlebars a few times...could've been leading star in one of Warren Miller's classic blooper segments...LOL. The SuperQuad stopped working halfway thrugh the afternoon....thus here was this rowdy crowd charging up the embankment towards Boardwalk....so after starting out on Sluice for a couple runs I ended up on Boardwalk and Whiffletree beginner trails, originally with no lines...only for Boardwalk to grow to ~15min. Getting used to the new angles and the 163s was just a combination of excitement and horror, even on the flats as well as something with a little pitch(Sluice)....but the day was so nice just to get out on a mountain...I skied my legs ragged in the first hour up on Sluice...and didn't try anything new for a ski...stance was so much of an change for the better, but muscle memory takes a few times out, so I'm really eager to get out again...now let's see what Motha Nature has in store...
