Had some for dinner Saturday night. I've seen them before at the store, but never got any, since I had no real idea what to do with them. Well, we went out to eat on Saturday, and they were on the menu, fried, kind of like you'd do with plantains. They are really tasty- a little bit sweet, nice crispy outside and creamy inside. Not unlike a plantain, really, but sweeter and without the starchy green banana effect.

However, starting about 3.00 Sunday morning and running for the next 3 hours, and then off an on through even this morning, I was able to corroborate everything in this article:

Holy buckets. Never seen anything like it before. And they were so tasty.

Sounds like a failure-to-warn to me. I'll stick with deep fried Snickers thanks.

Sounds kind of awesome to me. I'm gonna eat some before my next long car trip with someone else in the car with me...

The kielbasa with kraut for lunch sounded like a good idea at the time.

Nothing to do with sunchokes, but thought I'd mention it ...
