I loaded the Barker Quad at 8:00 and headed straight for White Heat where they were blowing snow. I had the fifth track down the trail. I skied the Heat 15 times (no exaggerating) this morning. My first five runs skiing the fresh manmade on the Heat was like being in an extreme telemark video, where they just float on the silk as they bomb down the mountain. They turned the guns off on about my fifth run and more people showed up. The trails started to get a little scratchy in a few spots as the word was out that the Heat was the trail to ski.
Around 10:30, I decided to venture out and see what the rest of the mountain was like, and try American Express where snow also had been made. Amex was good, nice and fluffy, but the rest of the mountain is "firm and fast", but edgable.
I left around 12:00 due to a commitment at home. Having the fifth track down the heat this morning was well worth the drive.
Oh yeah forgot to mention the bluebird skies. What a great morning of skiing.
