Can anyone help me out and give some advice as to where the best intermediate skiing/boarding is at Sunday River? What chair lifts/area of the mountain do people prefer?

Aurora, has some nice advanced intermediate area to board and no flats after you get going to get back to the lift. Many of my boarder friends stay at Jordan. Nice open areas mild intermidiate terrain. T-2 is a wonderful open trail off Barker area as well. Hope that helps.

T-2?

Did they start grooming that?

How about Agony or White Heat?

Seriously, any Blue cruiser is what you want..American Express..Sunday Punch...Risky...there tons of crusining

When are you going?

btw..the river is the best place to ski in the east

Great intermediate trails all over the Mountain

Ski out of the barker lodge and avoid the zoo at South Ridge, Early morning runs off the Barker quad has several nice intermediate runs, Upper and lower Sunday punch, Cascades and Lazy River. as things get crowded move to the Spruce Peak lift and runs down Risky Business. as this gets busy move over to the Arora lift and ski Northern Lights.

Take a run on Cyclone over to Jordan bowl and hit Roge Angel. Kansas is the best way out of there but as the name implys its pretty flat be prepared to Tuck it to maintain speed enough so you dont have to walk some of the up hill grades on it.

Lifts to avoid. Oz and White Cap. Reason pretty much only Black Diamond and Double diamond trails off these two lifts.

A good late afternoon secret. Wildfire rarely gets skied off because its not a popular trail since it ends by dumping into road runner which is a very flat trail .
These are my favorite Blue runs, there is a couple of good runs available from the North Peak lift also.
Dont spend your whole day on one area get out and explore Sunday River its a big place with lots of great trails.

By the way the skiing up there was just great this weekend.

Great place

Just got back from SR after a weekend of skiing. It was my first time there and I loved it. I'll have to post a full report when I have the time.

Anyway, I second what everyone around here say about the intermediate runs. However, I'd also add Lallapalooza. It's a green but it's a nice wide open trail with a few little steeper sections. It's a nice long cruiser for someone who doesn't want to scream down a steep. It was also in excellent shape over the weekend.

Someone mentioned White Heat. Great trail but not sure about an intermediate skier depending on what level they are. There are some steep sections there.

Also, this weekend the whole mountain(s) was/were nice except for the very tops. There was a wicked wind blowing for a few days and the tops were wind blown pretty badly in some areas. However, once you get below that wind the conditions were great.

Ya think?

Is there still the "head wall" on shockwave?

Man I gotta get back to the river...

It's still an 8 hour run....
