In the flatlands of Ct. for a little bit longer.
So lack of half pipes is lame, but superpipes suck?

Makes perfect sense.

It does make perfect sense doesn't it.
Ski sundown is a great training /novice mountain. When i used to go to sundown they didn't have bump runs to learn on. This made my bump skiing lame when i started going farther north. Now i hear sundown has bumps for people. This is good. Now when a sundown skier goes on trips to bigger mountains they will have the experience to handle more of the mountain.
No small to medium pipes =no experience=LAME. which makes superpipes suck.
Have you ever been in a superpipe? I'm sure you would like it better if you practiced in a smaller pipe first.
Now hopefully sundown expands and puts up a small to medium sized pipe. When this happens a sundown skier will be able to practice in the halfpipe and be prepared for the superpipes. I think in no small time they would rule the superpipes. Not many places have pipes. Why? because they are LAME.
I could then bring my nephew to skisundown and stop hearing him complain about never skiing a halfpipe.

I agree with a lot of what you say. As was stated already, terrain is just limited at Sundown. There really is no place for a pipe. Canyon Run just doesn't make sense. You need at least one intermediate trail that's groomed side to side. They do a fantastic job with what they have. Great learning terrain, bumps and a pretty damn impressive terrain park. Sit tight though. If the expansion happens, it will become an even better hill.

I’m not in agreement with the idea that any ski area without a half-pipe is lame. I do agree 100% with troski’s logic in terms of progression. A half-pipe, here, would be a huge step forward for us and is being discussed in the first phase of any potential expansion. As far as the spot to the left of canyon run, we have considered it in the past. It’s not big enough for even the lamest of sucky pipes of any size. Consider, drop-in, in-run, run -out, and your left with a $150,000 15 foot long lame suck pipe.
