Support Local Music Thread

It's this simple: local musicians need your support. Post shows with a date, time and location. If you can post a band link or youtube vid, that helps them out too. Frankly, this would be good as its own section so that each show could be its own thread. The list owners, however, may find this too off-topic.

Oldest son is also in his own band (The Vershok www.thevershok.com ) and are playing a Halloween show at the Middle East in Cambridge on 27 Oct. They and other bands are "covering" famous bands. The Vershok is covering Guns n Roses. Should be a good take.

Yep...the oldest son is an "original" member of the "choir". He also leads sings and plays bass in his own band (like many of the other BC members). Actually...three of the choir are in "The Vershok" with my son. Keeps them very busy. We will be attending the show @ The Roxy this Friday. We love the band...great kids, great sound.

www.thevershok.com plays Saturday @ The Middle East. They are participating in a Halloween event where bands are covering (and dressing as) other bands. The Vershok is covering Guns N Roses. Should be good.

I don't know anything about "The Brew".

re: the Sox...it's pretty good to be a Boston sports fan lalely! Celts kicked butt on the Knicks (too bad the DCU center's floor was a prob last night), Sox are in the hunt, Patriots are dominating...Bruins?...maybe with Cam Neely on staff things will crank up a bit.

I saw the link to "Hoof" and grimaced, but that's because I mistook them for "Deer Hoof". I saw DH last year. They opened for The Flaming Lips. DH was painful. The Lips' music was ok...but their political rhetoric was just over the top and I left early. The Lips' had a Mic-cam that showed the inside of the lead singer's mouth. Bad move.

Last night I went out to see Zeb Cruikshank play in a rare NH performance- he lives in Minnesota, nice bluesy style of guitar. Check out the vid:

So since I'm blowing off the mountains this weekend I'm off to see Groove Thang at The Pasta Loft in Milford tonight. Major Motion might be there.

Those guys will be playing as their Truffle arrangement tomorrow at Attitash in the afternoon and somewhere in Glen tomorrow night.
