SR didn't get a whole lot of natural this year, but the snowmaking trails were awesome on Saturday.

Yes, this is the kind of season that SR would rule. It just has not been too cold. You can't knock them at Sunday River. They took a place that was pretty much in the last place where you would expect a ski area and they made it big. Lot of respect for that. Great snowmaking, views, terrain variety, service, etc. Nothing wrong with that!

Looks like Jay Peak lost a lot...20 trails down from Friday.

Burke is down to 25 from 35 or so.

And Bear Creek is down to a handful.

:snow: please!!!

Jay didn't lose too much snow, I was up there today and saw it for my self. it rained pretty good for only a couple hours this afternoon and the woods and natural snow trails still have a good base. maybe a little more rain before the bottom drops on tuesday and the rain changes to snow! (hopefully).
looks like we could have another good upslope/lake effect event later this week, but I don't think that areas outside the northern greens will get too much. TB: can't you use your burke pass at jay midweek? might be prime-time later this week to make a trip up here.

Nope, student passes are only good at Burke, even if I am a law student.

thats too bad, the passes used to be totally interchangable even on weekends. I wanted to go to burke the monday after new years but I called and they said it was still a holiday period. I probably won't make it there this year cuz of the lack of snow, I really hope it works out with the new owners.

this year the full pass was interchangable on weekdays only with a discount on weekends. not too bad, but a long shot from the full recipricol privledges. don't look for those to return with ginn running the show. i wouldn't be surprised to see the deals with the burke pass cut back even more next year, but that is just my guess and nothing more.

Plattekill went from 12"+ of powder skiing on the 3rd of March to this on the 13th:

Looks very unapetizing and they are reduced from 30 trails down to 12 as of yesterday.

Hang in there....

Keep your Ullr eye toward Wednesday (at least for North Central Vt). Just be quiet, don't say anything out loud, that always jinxes us!....(humming....humming nonsensical tune...maybe a rendition of the The Good, Bad & the Ugly- which incedently could be the song theme for this winter) Anyone else have a song title in mind to represent the winter 05-06?

They could still get lake effect snow. They aren't packing it in yet.

Maybe we will get moved to misc, but listening to Dire Straights and "Money For Nothing" is playing. I don't think the season was quite that bad, unless you are holding tix because of an early season injury.
