really having an itch to get into telemark....I've been Alpine skiing for 30 years and looking for a new challenge..we were going to grab a tele lesson yesterday at MRG, but decided against it as per the conditions. Whats the learning curve for someone with a strong Alpine background? Being at MRG really put the itch on !!!!

With your alpine experience and good rental gear you should be doing basic linked turns by the end of day 1. After a few days you'll progress rather quickly. Spring corn is a good time to learn; it's very forgiving.

Same for me. In fact, I borrowed my brother's Tele setup last month when we did a day at Bolton. Definitely fun, but I want a lesson. My brother gave me some pointers but we were with our daugthers, so only so much. Every thursday and I think sunday, Alta has an intro tele workshop especially for advanced alpine skiers. I've been meaning to take it the last 3 times I've been out there...but haven't had the opportunity yet with either fresh snow or skiing company. I'll definitely do it again....and will try and perhaps pick up a lightly used setup.

The Bretton Woods ReggaeFest is a great time, come join us if you can. Keep in mind that for this fest there are only clinics in the morning, no afternoon clinics. But the Posse from Hell and the afterparty are worth it.

I started this year and I am now doing blacks and trees with little trouble. I started the first day up at sunday river and got my a$$ handed to me. But I stuck with it and broke my first pair of tele ski doing a 360 so I had to get new stuff. My advice is to rent good gear first. I got junk on ebay for under 100$ and had problems the whole time. I always say you get what you pay for. Good luck and loose your training heels;-)
