Hmmmmmmm. Anyone here ever ski Snow Summit, Bear Mountain in California? I went up there after a trade show in Anaheim in Jan just to take a look and fell in love with the place. The temp at the place apparently sits around 25-35F all day long, all winter long with bright sunny days. At night it slips down to a dry 20F for snowmaking and the occasional snowstorm. I was depressed I left it until late in the day to go up or I would have rented some gear! 90% of the area has tyrolian village desin and houses aren't exactly stupid expensive yet by California standards.

A ski area within driving distance of LA...I could only imagine what the crowds would be there.

Not necessarily, Mt. Baldy is closer, and from what I've heard, isn't usually very crowded...but, then again, it's difficult and is only double chairs. (I'm planning on making a visit when I'm out there next winter.)

Man is it hot out today!

Plus for entertainment purposes, the town highway dept just started tearing up the road infront of my office, who knows for what reason???? I'm hoping they'll puncture a water line and I'll have to shut the office down and go home early today! :)

It actually didn't appear to be that bad. No lift lines at all. I wish I could remember if it was a Sunday or Monday I went up. I think it might have been Monday, if so, it was a good crowd for a Monday. There are actually 5 or 6 areas just up the mountains from LA which spread the crowds out a bit. As I said, once I got there and had a good look, I was kicking myself that I wasn't able to ski. :???: Conditions looked great. I was pretty skeptical like you.

Spider Pig! Spider Pig! Does whatever a Spider Pig does. Can he swing from a web? No, he can't; he's a pig.

A guy I work with just booked a trip to Jackson, and yes I'm jealous but also a little worried for the guy...he hasn't been boarding that long. Told him to check out Targhee, so he comes back in one piece. That's all for now.

Ha ha, Did any of you see the show on Comedy Central called con or conned? This guy sets up a fake ski california commercial with the mountain manager of Mount Baldy. He pretends he and his buddies are a boy band from Norway hired to do the commercial. They get the manager to shut down half the mountain for them for the day. They get free food, tickets, rentals etc and skis for the whole day and do a half hour commercial shoot at close! It was hillarious. Now, when you look at it the other way around, Mt. Baldy did indeed end up with a lot of free airtime and advertising during the show

I can just see it, the pipe burst from the ground and hits a couple of workers in the mouth and they all run into your office for emergency work :)
See things could be worse. :)

Problem is when the pipe bursts, the water cooled compressors that drive the drills in my office stop working too! So pipe burst = early trip home! (This exact water main burst scenario has actually happend 3 times in the last 5 years infront of my office, so I'm a pro at handling the situation now ;) )

Discuss the history and legacy of the Catholic Church, from Clement I to the present day. Be complete, but brief.

Go.

It's funny how almost every thread just morphs into something completely different than the title! LOL!

And it's hot as hell! Can't wait till Fall and Winter. Will be up in Vermont often from Labor day - Columbus day...
