We are going there to see Portugal the Man Sunday night.

I am hoping to move north in a few years when my wife retires. Until then we will ski less and go to more shows I suppose.

Check out Newmarket where we live haha. We moved here originally in large part due to the Stone Church Music Club

What other non Dead stuff did they play? That's highly unusual. Dylan sure. There are several Dylan songs the GD would routinely play.

DSO does a two night run every year at Hampton Casino Ballroom that we go see. Always a good time.

Last few times I've seen either Bob or Phil it's been pretty disappointing and kind of a rip off . So I guess I'm "retired" from seeing them. I'm fine with that. Many great memories of them and of course Jerry over my 40 years of loving the band.
They played a couple Clapton songs and 3 or 4 Dylan songs.

Yeah, that's not normal for them. Typically half their shows they recreate historic GD set lists and the other shows they make their own, but it's always pretty true to the GD formula. Can't say I've ever heard them play one Clapton song, nevermind multiple.

That's what my friends told me. I was bummed because they chose a different format. They did "Lay Down Sally".

As for the multiple Dylan tunes, that's not too out of the norm even back with Jerry. People often joked the Grateful Dead were the world's best Dylan cover band. But I get what you are saying. I'm not a big Dylan guy.

Though I will say seeing Visions of Johanna at the Spectrum in 95 was perhaps the best vocal performance I ever saw from Garcia. That should have been a Dylan tune played more often. Kinda strange. Did it twice in 86, then not again until 95 for a handful more. In an interview someone asked Dylan what he thought of Jerry's version and he said something along the lines of, "I heard and thought oh!, that's what that song was about."

We are going July 4th and 5th.

Anyone else heading to Vegas?

We went to one of the June weekends. Three nights. It was an amazing experience. Probably the best concert experience I've had.

And a lot of Dead fans like this up and coming band, Goose. We saw them last night and they were amazing.

Yes the Dead and Co. at the Sphere was fantastic! We met up with old friends whi live in CA and AZ which made it even fore fun. We will go again - I think, hope they will have another residency there next year.

Goose is from a town in CT that I lived in for 22 years. They were about 5 years older than my kid so I never knew about them. We tried to see them at the Capitol on Port Chester but it was sold out and the secondary market for tix was very limited and very expensive. I've seen a few Youtube clips and will catch them at some festival or another.
