Yes, it's not everyday you hear discussion of the Grenville Orogeny in a skiing thread. As a geologist, I appreciate it and hope it continues. Also, I was at Jay Peak and made a video. The music was picked because it places our geologically insignificant lives in the proper context.

I'm not technically a geologist. I'm a geographer. I did minor in earth sciences and studied geology quite a bit as part of that. I wrote a couple of papers on Vermont's geology as part of my classes. Vermont has a very complex geology and we have just kind of touched on the more major components in this thread.

I am technically a degreed geologist, but I specialized in mountain meteorology in grad school. I've taken tectonics courses but don't actively work in the area.
