Any chance of a Tuesday powder day opening?
They’ve just had an 11 day run, and a private rental Wednesday. It would be a tough one, but ya never know. Let’s get the snow first - we are very much on the edge and this could be 2 and easily as 10.

Website says no. I don't think they had a busier extended week in memory.

That's a fair statement. The private mountain rentals step on the Powder days. So you need a lot of snow and an empty calendar.

I will look for you Smelly. I'm picturing Pigpen from the Peanuts on tele skis. :)

If you see bright yellow Scott poles & ridiculous baby blue bootcaps, that's me. (see above)

Think I met you a few years back and we took a couple runs together. You showed me some "secret" runs and took me (ducking the rope) down Magician in questionable shape. Actually skiers left was fine which we skied.

Planning on Magic Sunday... hope I'm not about to get screwed by a thaw-freeze. Sunday was looking warmer a few days ago but now it looks like the plunge comes earlier.

Woah, I deny that rope ducking accusation. Must have been another guy.

See you Saturday. :daffy:

Zand, we shall see. Things might be a bit firm to say the least unless we get a little snow Sunday am.

I see a max of 36F on Sat at Magic (which is less than was showing earlier this week) and below freezing with wind chill. And about 1 inch snow on Sat night/Sun morn. Based on this, I wouldn't think the thaw-freeze should be that bad? Any other views from anyone?

I am seeing Mostly sunny, with a high near 41. South wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Nothing Saturday night and 40% chance of snow Sunday

Nothing thawed today. The conditions are off the charts. I see people skiing just everything and tree lines I know are possible, but never really have tracks in. For those like me with feeble knees, Talisman is groomed to perfection top to bottom.

Got out yesterday (Thursday) for some fantastic skiing and afternoon blue bird skies. Unfortunately don’t think I can get over this weekend.

Forecast has definitely changed. Tomorrow will get warm, but it doesn’t look too sunny which will help keep temps down a bit and limit snow getting too wet. However, there is a small chance of a brief rain or snow shower as the front comes through. Then Sunday looks like snow, maybe a couple of inches.

Next week there is some potential for more snow before an unavoidable warm up. Just hoping not too damaging, and it reverts back to winter quickly.

Did it get super soft up high today? Looks like we're down into the mid 10s by mid morning tomorrow so anything that softened today won't be pretty tomorrow. Don't think the snow will be enough to really cover up the frozen stuff. Fingers crossed that at least the upper mountain escaped the softening.
