The thread is also missing all the references to Robert Rodriguez movies. Tarantino is involved in most of them in some way between acting, creating the script, and picking the soundtrack. I lump most Robert Rodriguez movies into the Tarantino bucket. I love turning people on to "From Dusk Till Dawn". Tarantino plays an excellent psychotic. That movie has the best WTF???? shift halfway through that I've ever seen.

Tarantino's joke to Cheech Marin in the bar in "Desperado" is also a great scene.

I have a couple of CDs called "Tarantino 100% Hits" loaded up on my iPod with his and Robert Rodriguez's soundtrack music. "Comanche" by the Revels. Dick Dale & The Del Tones "Misirlou". All the old surfer music like "Surf Rider" by The Lively Ones. The Tito & Tarantula stuff from the Rodriguez movies. Great fun.

Favorite Pulp Fiction scene? That's a tough one. Probably Harvey Keitel as Winston Wolfe dealing with the spattered body parts in the car. Great dialog.

"That's thirty minutes away. I'll be there in ten."

"If I'm curt with you it's because time is a factor. I think fast, I talk fast and I need you guys to act fast if you wanna get out of this. So, pretty please... with sugar on top. Clean the f***ing car."

The Wolf: Maybe I can give you guys a ride. Where do you live?
Vincent: Redondo Beach.
Jules: Inglewood.
The Wolf: It's your future... I see a cab ride. Move out of the sticks, gentlemen.

I love the character actor Robert Rodriguez puts in all his films.... Danny Trejo. He's like the actors Sergio Leone used in those old Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns with the weathered faces instead of the typical Hollywood air brush and photoshop look. He was great as the knife-throwing hired gun in Desperado and as the bartender in From Dusk Till Dawn. A great story of a San Quentin ex-con who became a successful actor. He and Rodriguez are second cousins.

Reservoir Dogs was my intro to Quentin Tarantino films. Great dialog, cast and stands up to repeat viewings. Always remember Steven Wright as the voice of the DJ and Mr Blonde and a razor to the tune of Stealers Wheel "Stuck in the Middle With You"- ranks as one helluva gruesome movie scene.

Yeah, Robert Rodriguez is a pretty talented director, too. Once Upon a Time in Mexico was an underrated movie. Rodriguez is smart, too. He uses those Spy Kids moves to make money for his other projects.

My favorite part of Desperado was Steve Buscemi . . . The story he tells at the beginning is great ("He said something like 'bitch' or 'Bucho?' Yeah, that was it. BUCHO!").

My favorite part of Pulp Fiction was also the wolf ("You sendin' the Wolf?!?! Shit, negro, that's all you had to say!!")

Big QT fan. Have seen all his movies. Really looking forward to seeing Inglourious Basterds. Every time I listen to any Smash Mouth I think of QT movies. Seems a natural fit.

I was getting coffee this morning and Winston Wolfe's line came into my head - "lots of cream, lots of sugar...."

And I love it when he just smiles and nods thank you to Jimmy for the coffee.

Haven't seen Inglorious Basterds yet....

I think Pulp fiction has been out for more than 12 years .My wife and I went to see it at the Strand when we lived in Dover NH .Must have been early 1990's .
Kickstand and SkiDog inspired this: http://forums.alpinezone.com/9424-any-coffee-fiends-out-there-2.html

So what's your favorite scene/character/line from Pulp Fiction? Hard to believe it came out 12 years ago now. Amazingly enough, when my wife and I went to see it in the theatre, we actually walked out about 30 minutes into the film! I can't recall which scene drove me out, but I do recall being turned off by the violence and langauage. I guess I just didn't get it at that point. I think I'd never seen anything quite like it before. And now it's probably in my top 5 favorite movies of all time.

Hard to choose just one scene, but it may be the Dead N* Storage scene with Tarrantino, Travolta and Samuel Jackson. Tarrantino is just too much and has so many great lines. I also really like the sicko Hispanic woman cab driver who keeps asking Butch what it's like to kill a man with his bare hands. Lots of weirdos out there in LA, I guess.

Also - I want to make this a Tarrantino thread as well and admit I've never seen Reservoir Dogs (!!! - I'll correct that error soon), and that I loved the Kill Bill movies. Karate master Pei Mei is amazingly over the top and Michael Madsen and Michael Carradine are perfectly under-stated. And whenever I hear the "Woo-Hoo" song on that stupid Vonage phone ad it makes me think of the first movie........so many great scenes in these, too.

Look at the date on the first post in this thread. Pulp Fiction was 12 years old when this thread was started.

I'm a tremendous QT follower. Watched every film at the theater after seeing Resevoir Dogs on video. Pulp Fiction was easily hands down the best film of the 90s and my personal favorite. Nominated for best picture and Forest Gump wins; made me want to leave the country. His films aren't all equal but I think they all have value and I don't feel as if he's screwed up yet.

He takes his time. He writes what he directs. There aren't many artists out there doing that. He was interviewed on Stern recently and, both of them being comic book geeks, QT was asked if he'd do a big budget superhero flick. He said definitely but he'd want to create the superhero. The guy is annoying to listen to but I see him as one of the very best.

First time I saw "Reservoir Dogs" was at home (on VHS, no less), and we kept getting interrupted every 20 minutes or so by people coming in, the need for bong hits, etc. Which was actually a good thing, since the intensity in that movie builds up so much, especially the first time you see it.
