BARTLETT, New Hampshire — Bring the family to Attitash this holiday for a week full of daily races, quirky activities and après ski events. The resort will host daily events starting December 26 with favorites like the Fruit Cake Toss, Family Fun Race and Snow Golf.

"Kids get a kick out of our activities from the ‘Pop Till You Drop' Balloon Relay to Banana Jousting or our On Snow Golf Challenge," said Heidi Loecher-Duffy, event coordinator for Attitash. "Families can participate together or gather at the end of the day for our après ski events."

There is no pre-registration required for the majority of events so participants can just show up in the Attitash Base Area and join in the fun.

Some of the racing events require pre-registration along with a fee. For a more relaxed race opportunity a recreational GS course will be available for daily racing from 11:00am -3:00pm with a charge of $2.00 per run or $15.00 for 10 runs. Visit www.attitash.com/events for further details.

The highlight of the week is The Bud Light Rail Jam, which will take place outside of Ptarmigan's Pub at 1:00pm on Saturday December 31. Some of the East's best skiers and riders will battle for cash prizes using some of the resort's signature rails from the terrain park. Competitors can register on-line at www.attitash.com/events or on the day of the event from 11:00am-12:00pm for a $50 registration fee.

Part of the Bud Light Rail Jam will feature music from the I-Rates, a Portland based reggae band, who later will move inside to Ptarmigan's Pub for après ski from 3:00pm-5:00pm. Other après ski events during Winterfest include the band Foglifter playing on December 28, "Wild Bill" Corney on December 29 and DJ Tory, December 30. Free to everyone, the resort encourages visitors and residents of the Mount Washington Valley to participate in their après ski events at Ptarmigan's Pub throughout the season.

The Attitash Grand Summit Hotel on Bear Peak is offering ski and stay packages for the holiday week. For more information or reservations visit www.attitash.com or call (800) 223-SNOW.
