My trip from Brighton led me up Guardsman Pass, where the preferred method of transportation is snowcat:

And the views are great. The view over towards Brighton:

And Solitude:

But I came to a closed gate because the snow over the pass was too deep, so it was back to SLC and up 80 to Park City.

When you get off at the Park City/Kimball Junction exit, it is hard to miss the Olympic Park on the hillside:

I decided to check it out, thinking that it would be a 10 minute drive by. I was there almost two hours and it was worth it. This center features the bobsled and luge tracks, the freestyle pools, the mogul/freestyle trail, and of course the ski jumps. The Park has access roads to the top and two CTEC Double Chairs for the jumps and the freestyle/mogul run.

Alf Engen and Joe Quinney greet you:

The freestyle pools:

See the future Olympian?

From the day lodge/museum, it is a 2 minute stroll downhill, past the winchcat:

to the base of the ski jumps and the mogul run:

Mogul/freestyle run with its own chairlift:

Double to the ski jumps:

Now that the games have come and gone, this is a training ground for athletes, a museum for Utah's ski history as well as the games, and also a tourist trap with probably the most extreme zip line ride you've ever seen. It drops from the top of the ski jumps and into the valley. I spent $5 to ride the double to the top of the ski jumps and walk around. It was worth it:

This mid-unload was for jumpers of the K90 jump only.

I got off the chair and headed back up the hill. Past the freestyle trampolines:

A miner, or one of Utah's first skiers:

In the small shop I snagged the last pictoral history on Utah Skiing and am thoroughly enjoying it. A real gem and the pleasant surprise stop of the day!

Btw - The moguls comps were held at Deere Valley not at the Olympic Park.

Thanks for the correction. Must be just freestyle then. I did not think that the trail was long enough. Maybe like 150 vertical feet.

This is the book I got for half-price. It was the last copy. It was published in 2001, so it is long out of print, but it is still on Amazon.

Puck it is right. The moguls and aerials were held at Deer Valley. We were there a couple of weeks after the games. The Stadium (even though it was temporary) was left up for 2 seasons to allow for another competition.(We all did the obligatory ski into the arena with arms raised to empty stands). The stadiums at Snow Basin were dismantled quickly. They may use that chairlift in Olympic Park for training but I don't think its open to the public.
