this is kind of funny because summer arrived late, not early this year so this thing is wrong from the get go. i am standing by my prediction of later than usual first significant snow, we don't get jack pots two years in a row hardly ever. i forget my prediection, but i think it was something like november 6th or 7th for first 6" storm in new england. this summer hasn't been too bad thankfully, nothing like last summer. uhggg, that was just aweful.

So bascially they're saying from now until February, everything will happen a month earlier than normal. I will say the pattern we're in right now is very reminiscent to late August, with quite a few cool days mixed in with the hot ones. Not using them as a real good source, but accuweather has highs in the low 70s and lows in the low 50s for my area for NEXT week. It looks like besides the hot September we had, this fall will be pretty similar to last fall. And then next year, from February to July, everything will happen a month earlier than normal and then from August to December, everything a month later than normal. That's all we need is two July-like months. From what it looks, the 2007-2008 winter could set up like 2004-2005, with its VERY late start but good midwinter to spring. IDK, these things usually aren't very correct so whatever.

Upon further review, accuweather is now calling for highs in the mid 60s and lows in the upper 40s for my area next week. That's unheard of here in August. Last year, on Labor Day weekend I was happy the first day the low was actually below 60, and then that day in late September when the high was under 70 for the first time. But a high of 66 and low of 48 on August 4th just isn't supposed to happen. Maybe we'll get another snowicane this year.

Even the long range GFS model is echoing what accuweather is saying. This is plain weird.
