It would be nice to see such a drastic dip in the jet stream, but it would probably be short lived in October.

the good news is that the models didnt show this yesterday, so perhaps change is in the wind

with such a big dip and strong upper level low, definite snow showers in the mountains

whoa, that's one to keep an eye on. with precip in the forecast, that def could be higher elevation snow up here. right now the low is called for upper 30s in the long range forecast but that is still a few days out. nothing to get too excited about at this point.
