I like the looks of Mt. Snow personally. Temps dont look too, too bad. Mostly dry week, with a solid freeze-thaw thing going on. West Dover temps call for mid 50s during the days and a couple ticks below freezing at night, so should be colder on the mountain, and thus, prime freeze-thaw and perhaps corn harvesting this weekend? Also, they have at least 2 bump trails reported on their website, and I have been very dissappointed with Stratton's ability to offer anything in the way of enjoyable bumps, all season long.

Would love to hear others' opinions re: this topic.

Okemo's bumps were prime yesterday. Not a ton of fields, but Sel's was worth lapping yesterday afternoon.

Looking like Mt. Snow for me, probably Saturday. If any of you see a fat guy with a Chow Mein sticker on his helmet, wave. I was up there last Thursday and it was in pretty good shape, with lots of breathing room base-wise.

Will likely be @ Okemo Thursday. I'll report back on how it was.

40% chance of showers Sat/30% chance Sun for Mt. Snow according to weather.com. Yeah, I know it's several days out - but I thought it was worth mentioning because I also was considering Mt. Snow this weekend.

ETA: just rechecked weather.com and it looks like 70% chance rain/snow Sat and 30% chance showers Sun. 38* Sat, 40* Sun.

I am just going to watch the weather as we get closer to the weekend and then decide what to do. At this point we are going to be living off of our Maine Pass, so whenever the weather looks decent enough we will head out next week.

Umm. Yeah, But what was the forecast for this weekend again? I purposely didn't ski sat, to ski sunday because that was supposed to be the better day in southern NE. Let's just say you can't outguess the weather!

The NWS is predicting 1-1.5" of rain for Southern Vermont for friday into saturday:

HIGHEST RAINFALL WILL BE IN SOUTHERN VT...WITH 1 TO 1.5 INCH
IN RUTLAND/WINDSOR COUNTIES...TAPERING OFF TO AN INCH TO ROUTE 2 IN
VT...AND 0.5 TO 0.75 INCH IN NORTHERN VT

By sunday snow is possible above 1,500' if the moisture is still present when it cools down.

We did the same thing at Magic, but to be fair the NWS did adjust their forecast on saturday afternoon, to show mostly cloudy conditions for Southern Vermont on sunday. In the end it was probably better for the conditions not to have a burning hot sun turn the snow into mush.

The cool thing is that on Saturday I'll be skiing at Belleayre on a free voucher and if it rains for more than a certain amount of time..you get a raincheck voucher...sunshine is over-rated..
