...Hoops @ Lunch.

Skins and shirts, 4 on 4.

Awesome weather. Downside of playing on this court @ lunch this time of year...the noon sun is right over one of the backboards. You pick ball or direction at the start...smart pick is direction.

Ran 3 miles Thursday and 4 miles Friday. Feeling pretty good.

Lugged leaves all day yesterday. :<

Sounds like you're ready for bumps!
Yeah, I ran in a tee shirt and shorts. Great weather.
Was running just a little sore from Sunday at Wildcat.

re: ready for bumps....HEH! Ready for that book to arrive!!! *sheesh* I don't know what I'm doing "posting". I've got the blades in the car...think I'll head tothe empty parking lot and give it a shot.

Thanks for checking in. Looking forward to using your book's info Dan.

EDIT: OK..So I bladed @ lunch. Ya know...@ my height, it's a little intimidating to be that unstable...that much higher off the pavement. After about 30 minutes...I was sort-of back in the swing. Lots of fine-muscle adjustments to stay upright in the wind. Need to do that more often...now that I've broken the "ice", I should have less angst over getting back on the blades.

By the way, height can play to your advantage in bumps: it gives you good visibility over the bumps; plus long legs give you a big range of motion for absorption and extension.

As long as you keep your eyes on the prize and keep that head up; I'm not as big as Sky but at 6'2" I'm a bump mess if I don't keep my chin up.

Constantly working on that big detail.

ahhhh...today's work out (first of the week due to visitors and other schedule conflicts during the lunch hour) was refreshing.

A brisk three mile run. Finished strong. Leg strenght felt great. Lungs were a little less cooperative but adequate.

Weight room was closed for renovation...a good bad thing. Good in that it will finally get renovated. Bad in that it will take a while to complete.

Drove all day yesterday (no work out at all), and now I'm in Philly for an early Thanksgiving weekend with family. Sort of a hilly neighborhood we're in here, so I'll do some interval hill stuff... "up-and-downs"... and some pushups, crunches.

The weather's no warmer here. It was 49 degrees as we drove through southern NH, and it was 49 degrees when we arrived here six hours later.

I've been spinning 60-minutes every other night on my trainer and with a couple of other fellows 2-hour mountain bike rides on Sundays....the mountain bike rides will eventually change to skiing though...I've only jumped on my skiers edge once so far...I need to feel the cold weather at home to get me pumped up for that routine...and I noticed a thin layer of ice on our pond this morning...

I've had a nasty URI for almost 2 weeks. (I knew that trip to Asia and the endless games of "dead chicken volleyball" weren't such a good idea.) I've still been getting to the gym for weight training and cardio on the stepmill.

Yesterday, I hit the legs with 4-5 sets of squats, Lunges, Leg curls, Leg extensions, calf raises and tibialis anterior curls.

Still a little conjestion. I'm sick of being sick.
