Is it epicly douchey for me to admit how good this thread makes me feel for checking off so many of other people's bucket lists? Yeah, I thought so.

But honestly, I never consider them checked off anyway. Any of the ones listed that I've done...I would do again in a second.

Europe and Japan are still high on my undone list.

I would at some point like to take a full season and drive around chasing storms. Not for a week but all winter

Don't worry, I'm a lucky douche too having been to a good portion of the places people have mentioned

Places I've hit that should be on your bucket list:
Portillo, Chile - MAKE IT HAPPEN!!! I've been twice, and even the year when the snow was just "ok," it was such a cool experience from start to finish. It's just an amazing trip... From carrying your skis at the airport and having people ask "where are you going skiing?", to the first view of the Andes from Santiago (which makes Denver or Utah seem like Vermont. Literally when you are in Santiago, you're at an elevation of 2,000 looking at peaks over 25,000 whereas Denver is at 5,000 looking at 14,000)

Europe - Only been twice but it's such a cultural experience it's worth every penny

Alaska - Take 10 days and do a couple at Alyeska, then drive around the state and end up in Valdez and Heli-ski the Chugach for a day (unless you're loaded).

My Bucket list:
Japan - doubt I'll ever get there but I can dream of skiing with snow monkeys
Lake Tahoe - Never been for some reason
Chamonix - I'm just past my prime but would love to ski a "fall and you die" couloir

On the east coast, still need to hit:
Smuggs
The Loaf
Mt. Tremblant

Ok , Surf "Witout a Wetsuit"....Been on Revere Beach in August...still darn cold!

New England always requires a wet suit IMO and in the winter a dry suit! If you want to use neither, head to Southern California and ski at one of these - http://www.onthesnow.com/southern-california/ski-resorts.html - and then head to the beach, play golf, etc. Having lived in So Cal. for 7 years, I have been there done that. Skied Snow Summit at night and was at the beach during the day!

People's lists on here are awesome! Getting me fired up to plan some trips. Lot's of recurring themes.....

Ones that I've done which I give a big thumbs up to doing:
- Aleyska: The mountain itself is great but not mind-blowing. But the setting....!!
- AK Heli: Oh hell yeah!
- Alta/Bird: (done the 'bird' half of that)
- "Somewhere in the Southern hemisphere": Yes! Do IT!
- Whistler: Mentioned be a few people. I assume that includes Blackcomb. Whistler is phenomenal....Blackcomb is phenomenal+10
- Taos: Awesome mountain and especially great to blend in with some non-skiing desert adventures.
- Winter Park: Love that place (esp MJ). Not the first place to hit in CO, but certainly not to be overlooked.
- "ski in the morning, surf in the afternoon": An absolute MUST for any New England spring-skiing lover. (or winter for that matter)

Ones that I haven't done but am now so itching to after this thread:
- Japan: This seems to be the place du jour. And from the pics I've seen I want it at the top of my list.
- Europe: Eternally high on the list.
- Jackson Hole: Been there in the summer but never in winter. Had always intrigued me but based on how many times it was mentioned in this list, now it's on mine

I got ambitious and I booked one of my aforementioned bucket list trip today. Heading to Prince George BC next February. Very excited. I always figure the earlier you book the more time you have to look forward to it. Doesn't hurt when trying for mileage flights either. The ideal flights showed up for 25000 miles today so I pulled the trigger. It's nice that they were available only a few days after it was even possible, now I don't have to check every day. The plan is to hit the following if all goes well....

Hudson Bay
Shames
Murray
Tabor
Troll
Purden
Timothy
Powder King
Little Mac (night?)
Hart Highland (night)

Sounds Cool! lots of good choices , My wife wants to go to Hawaii ( not sure how she would handle the long flight, neck issue )But if we make it thought I could slip in another activity. timing is everything though.

Trade winds on the mountains would provide a dawn to dusk ride!
