Location: A backyard in Woodstock, CT

Occasion: Suprise B-day party for one of my hygienists (I won't divulge the number for fear of injury ;) )

TR: So one of my hygienists is having a significant B-day mid June, and myself along with her husband and one of our good friends decided that throwing her a suprise B-Day party would be a great idea, and somehow we managed to keep it a secret from her for almost a month (no easy feat considering we had 30 guests - many of whom she see's on almost a daily basis!)

Menu - Lobster (about 50lbs total!), roughly 15 lbs of beef tenderloin, a whole bunch of sides and salads of which I didn't sample because of the lobster and tenderloin ;) And dessert - okay no "real" birthday cake since the other main host/cook is a PHENOMENAL dessert chef and the guest list was about 95% adults! Oh and about 7 cases of various beers as well as a bunch of wine and random mixed drinks

"Lobster Hot Tubs"

Random Egg Roll Shots - we thought putting a can of "special kitty" next to them would add to the fun!

The birthday girls 5lb Lobster - for reference sake, it's on a regular sized cookie sheet!

Dessert!

All in all a great party if I do say so myself, and it gave me a great excuse to dig out some of my propane powered tailgating equipment after a few months of sitting idle in my storage shed :)

What were the weights of the Tenderloins? The one on the left looks particular large; had to have come from an 7/8 up PISMO

I believe they were in the 7-8lb range - not totally sure as I had absolutely nothing to do with those (except eat them ;) ) My jobs were lobsters and beverages for the shin-dig :) And lets just say that everyone got their fill of crustecean and nobody went thirsty either :)

Looks like you guys KNOW how to PARTY HARDY !!! Nice job doc

Thanks Warp. Alot of it has to do with the simple fact that my business partner and I fell that we have a very good staff and like to let them know it a few times a year. It just so happened that this time there was a longtime employee that was having a "significant" birthday, so rather than take the entire office out for a nice dinner (as we usually do this time of year), we took what we would have spent on the dinner and did up the suprise b-day party instead :)

Let's just say that in the weeks leading upto it, and especially now a few days after that office morale has been through the roof :)

Now I'm jealous, Beer, lobster, and tenderloin and it's all tax deductible. I need to start my own business. Or I could just work for Dr.Jeff.

Lobster& Filet Mignon twice baked potatoes , salads, wine and cheese appetizers followed by open bar and Strawberry Shortcake , Ate that meal twice a week for six straight weeks one summer -- Haven't had a lobster since -- Got the picture ??? LMAO
