I discovered a really cool way to get all my Ski area snow reports on Facebook nearly real time. (Real time would be Twitter, but I don't need to be that real). I created a "list", then put all my favorite ski areas into a list. I made it a favorite. Whenever I want to see the stream of my ski areas, I just click on the list and there it is.
In many cases there are photos. It sure beats going from resort site to site, reading random email reports and is sure better than a general list of resorts with snow reports.
I did the same thing with important weather source like snowforecast.com and National Weather Service. It struck me to do this last night as I was tracking the snowstorm. The NWS sites have become a two way conversation where lots of random people post reports and get answers from NWS real time. I had all my NWS FB pages bookmarked, but it was a pain. this method works vastly better.
It's interesting that the NWS information is two way, where resort info is one-way.
I knew that someday I'd figure out how best to use Facebook for skiing. The future of skiing is now!
