My much older brother ( age 70 ) and I climbed Hunter Mountain today from fro the Sprucetion side. Its good to see my brother still has it. Getting to the trail head was a bit of a challenge with all the washed out roads from the recent heavy rains.

The reason for this post is clear visibility like my brother and I have never seen before. From the top of Hunter Mtn Fire Tower you could see the Adirondack mountains with a clarity never seen in a long long time. Many thanks to the heavy rain for clearing up the visibility.

Since we are talking about clear. Check out this video which is very clear.

I climbed Mt. Jefferson in the Whites yesterday and unfortunately couldn't see a thing because of the clouds. I'm not complaining though, it's still a fun hike and I hope I'm still doing it when I'm 70.

If you had walked downhill to the east from the summit a little bit you would have been in the clear! The clouds were hovering over the Northerns on Saturday.

It did clear up a bit as I started my descent. One of those days where it pays to sleep in and get a late start. But then I would have had to contend with the crowds, I was amazed at the amount of people heading up as I was heading down.
